I want to start reading

I was never really a big book person to be honest. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not
that I despise the idea of sitting down and reading (I would say quite the opposite
actually), I just never spent the time following that passion of mine, never sat
down to just read a book, didn't dedicate the time needed.

I think that applies to me in more things than just reading. I always wanted to
learn new things or become better at what I already do, I just never dedicated
time to it. It’s not like I didn’t have time (I had plenty) but I always just
postponed it to the max.

Now that I have less time (working 40 hour weeks) I want to do even more things
but this time I am actually progressing. This blog is a perfect example. I always
wanted to start writing and I finally did it! I mean sure, it's not the best but
I am trying. The fact that I have little time in my hands has made me appreciate
these moments and cherish them. Those 2 hours before I have to leave for work,
the 2 days off I get every week. It made me more picky on what I do in my free
time, who I spend it with, what I spend it with.

As I am writing this at 1:40 AM I think about how much time I wasted. Time wasted
scrolling on my phone, time wasted hanging out with people I dislike, all that time
thrown out of the window; and for what? a little bit of dopamine?

I want to start reading, I want to start writing, I want to learn another instrument.
I don’t want be the guy that sits around all day, I want to be unique, I want to leave
a mark on this world. I don't want to die in a couple of years and not be remembered;
is that unrealistic?. I don’t want to be “just some guy”.
